Herongate Barn Theatre Wedding :: Jess + Josh
Jess + Josh are the kind of people you want to party with. For example, their ceremony was in an eclectic theatre, they included their dogs in photos, walked into their reception to Migos’ “Bad and Boujee” and literally dropped the mic to end their wedding speech. IT. WAS. EPIC.
The day for us began at Jess’s parents house where the bride grew up. As per usual, the ladies were in the process of hair and makeup and catching up on old times. Before we knew it, it was time for Jess to slip into her dress. She stepped into her dream dress with tears in her eyes and hugged her mom as tight as she could. I knew we had an emotional day a head of us.
Brandon spent the getting ready portion of the day with the guys as they tied their ties, snacked on KFC and sipped on bourbon. Sounds like a pretty kick ass way to get ready to me. Like I said, these people know how to party.
Jess + Josh opted for a first look on their wedding day – which is perfect for getting photos done early and enjoying cocktail hour with your guests. Josh was placed in a grassy field waiting for the tap on the shoulder from his bride and as soon as I went back to give Jess her cue to make her way to Josh, it started raining. So plan B sprung into action and we moved the first look into their ceremony space – which was way more intimate. They saw each other for the first time under the spotlight of the theatre. It was pretty magical.
The rain finally let up just in time for bridal party photos. We took total advantage of the spectacular clouds and just had a GREAT time with Jess + Josh and their amazing bridal party. This group of awesome people put the “party” in “bridal party”. Then it was back into the theatre for the ceremony.
After the ‘I dos’, Jess + Josh together with their families and friends, gathered in the beautiful white tent at Herongate Barn Theatre. The newlyweds swaggered their way to their seats, listed to the some of the funniest speeches we’ve ever heard and partied the night away.
J + J, stay cool. We like you that way!

Lynde Shores Engagement Shoot :: Kaitlin + Ryan
I had been looking forward to shooting with Kaitlin + Ryan for weeks leading up to their engagement session. Kaitlin and I emailed back and forth and scheduled the perfect day to meet up at Lynde Shores Conservation Area in Whitby. We gathered our gear on an early Saturday morning and headed up to Whitby. On our way there the rain clouds started to roll in and I really tried not to notice their presence looming over our heads. We arrived at Lynde Marsh and exchanged quick hugs and got right into shooting.
Jenn + Doug Wedding :: Rosewater Room
Jenn + Doug’s April wedding will always hold a special place in my heart. It pulled at my heart strings not only because the bride and groom were wonderful, warm people, and not only because of the beautiful glamorous decor, but because it was my first wedding of the year! What Jenn + Doug don’t know was that I was counting down the days leading up to their wedding and I was so excited to meet them and to capture their wedding story.
The Sultry Sessions :: Boudoir Marathon
For weeks I have been searching for the words to sum up my Sultry Sessions experience. And when I reflect on those two glorious days of shooting what sticks out in my mind are three words: evolution of emotion. Each woman walked into their boudoir session feeling nervous – which is completely normal and quite frankly, expected. Hell, even I was nervous but what I witnessed was far more beautiful than any earring, nail polish hue, or high heel.

Looking back on 2015
2015 brought so many great things to us. We met so many wonderful people, traveled to great places – local and abroad – and were lucky enough to pursue our dreams while doing it. As I was looking back on this glorious year I decided to compile some images to reflect our experiences, and since it’s new years eve, there’s no better time to share them with everyone!
Christmas time is actually the best.
I used to be a total grinch – seriously. In the past, I have been guilty of not doing ANYTHING Christmas-y until December 1st. I was that person who would snarl at Christmas carols on the radio, roll my eyes at Christmas lights, and refuse to do any shopping. Yeah, I told you, a TOTAL grinch. Until I started having Christmases with my in laws. Brandon and his family would bake the most delicious cookies, and pretty much go all out for the holidays. And this year it happened – my tree was up and completely decorated in the middle of November. My heart has officially grown three sizes people. I’m sooo excited for the holiday season this year. And I have the people below to thank for my high spirits this season.

Muskoka Cottage Wedding :: Chelsea + Brandon
Chelsea + Brandon wanted their Muskoka Cottage wedding to be a celebration with their closest friends and family. And a celebration it was indeed. Chelsea was surrounded by the love of her besties while she sat in the hair and make up chair. We have known this amazing couple ever since we met during their engagement session – and we built quite the connection with them.
