Jenn + Doug’s April wedding will always hold a special place in my heart. It pulled at my heart strings not only because the bride and groom were wonderful, warm people, and not only because of the beautiful glamorous decor, but because it was my first wedding of the year! What Jenn + Doug don’t know was that I was counting down the days leading up to their wedding and I was so excited to meet them and to capture their wedding story. Having a connection to a couple on their wedding day is something I look for when I am booking couples, but this wedding was special because I had the opportunity to third shoot with my friends of Taylor Clark Photography. But lucky for me, I hit the bride and groom jackpot and Jenn + Doug and their family and friends were an absolute pleasure to work with and to spend the day with. They welcomed me with open arms and trusted me to capture their day.
Let me just say that Jenn was just stunning – inside and out. Being a recent bride myself, I could totally relate to Jenn as she sat quietly and nervously while she finished getting her make-up done. But all of her nerves vanished as soon as she touched Doug’s shoulder during their first look in the middle of The Distillery District. Jenn smiled and Doug teared up as he saw his beautiful bride for the first time. It was a moment I will remember forever.
After wedding party and family portraits we headed to the Rosewater Room (a beautiful Toronto venue) for the ceremony and reception – which was gorge! The night was filled with laughter and happy tears and I am so thankful for Jenn + Doug’s trust, and for allowing me to be apart of their special day.
Please enjoy, friends!
