I had been looking forward to shooting with Kaitlin + Ryan for weeks leading up to their engagement session. Kaitlin and I emailed back and forth and scheduled the perfect day to meet up at Lynde Shores Conservation Area in Whitby. We gathered our gear on an early Saturday morning and headed up to Whitby. On our way there the rain clouds started to roll in and I really tried not to notice their presence looming over our heads. We arrived at Lynde Marsh and exchanged quick hugs and got right into shooting.
Within our first 10 frames, we couldn’t escape the dark clouds anymore and it poured relentlessly. Running back to the cars, we quickly decided to wait out the rain and see what happens. After anticipating and hoping the rain would disappear, it suddenly got quiet and the sun decided it would cooperate with us! Yes! We started shooting again and I could not be happier with the light that day gave to us.
Kaitlin + Ryan were adorable in front of the camera, that’s when Kaitlin wasn’t giggling and Ryan wasn’t sharing his tid-bits of bird knowledge with us. I can now say that I can spot a female wild turkey 50 yards away, thanks to Ryan! We spent the rest of the afternoon in photo heaven surrounded by beautiful birds and chipmunks and I am so grateful to be shooting their intimate backyard wedding this August. Can’t wait!
